About Wild Well Counseling

Therapy is a courageous first step to understanding yourself and what you want out of your life.

You are worthy of peace, happiness and a life that is fulfilling. Whatever brought you here, please know that I believe in you and believe things can get better. More than better.

Healing is not about “getting fixed.” It is a process of self-discovery. The therapeutic journey is about the revelation of our truest, healthiest and most secure self. When we find that, it ripples out into the world through a greater capacity to love, create, give, and understand.

Wild Well Counseling grew from the belief that wellness is a whole person journey and that mental health is only one part of it. Spiritual, sexual, physical, and emotional health all play a role in what it means to be “well.”

My approach is about putting the individual first and ensuring that you are seen and heard. Many people have had negative experiences with therapy, or are fearful they will be told there is something “wrong” with them.  The act of seeking therapy is both vulnerable and brave.

At Wild Well Counseling, strengths are the center of treatment. My goal is to help you recognize how past struggles make you uniquely equipped to handle what you’re going through in the here and now.

Treatment is conceptualized with a holistic approach that utilizes evidenced based practices such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) with holistic and alternative approaches, depending on the needs and receptiveness of the client.

Alternative approaches include a focus on creative development and art intervention, breathwork, yoga, Tantra, somatic therapy, body movement and meditation.

I’m grateful that you are here and look forward to seeing what we can accomplish together!

Services Offered

  • INDIVIDUAL THERAPY
  • COUPLES THERAPY
  • WELLNESS/ LIFE COACHING
  • CORPORATE TRAINING

In individual therapy, a client typically focuses on areas of functioning they would like to improve. This could mean improving social skills and relationships, learning to recognize and regulate emotions, processing trauma, developing self-worth, learning to set healthy boundaries, resolving grief, treating mental health issues like depression and anxiety, learning coping skills to manage life stressors better, and working on any number of other issues of importance to the individual.

Individual therapy is meant to be a space where a person can feel safe to talk about difficult things as well as gain better insight into their life, their relationships and themselves. The therapist brings a combination of objectivity, compassion and evidence-based, clinical intervention to help the client achieve their goals.

A lot of people have a misconception something has to “be wrong with you” to go to therapy. Not true at all! Everyone can benefit from therapy, but I always encourage clients to approach it with intention. It’s a space that’s set aside for you. Individual therapy is most effective when you know why you’re there and what you would like to get out of it. Therapy is a form of self-care and an investment in yourself.

Couples therapy can help people in partnerships of all types grow and deepen their relationship. Couples therapy can have tremendous value to couples who are seeking to improve communication, considering marriage or divorce, experiencing challenges or external stressors, navigating changes in their relationship dynamic (such as introducing other partners), struggling with sexual and emotional intimacy, or just generally hoping to develop a closer bond by gaining better insight through a neutral party.

A common misconception is that seeking couple’s therapy means that the relationship is “bad.”  While many couples begin attending therapy during a crisis, going to couple’s therapy during periods of satisfaction can help amplify intimacy and connection and provide the valuable tools that will help them navigate challenges and prevent crises in the future.

Coaching takes a more goal-focused approach. Like therapy, coaching can help you explore and understand yourself and be a catalyst for meaningful change in your life. While many therapists also offer coaching services, the fundamental difference between coaching and therapy is that therapists use clinical training to diagnose and treat mental illness. Coaches do not. Coaching is focused on clarifying and setting goals, increasing motivation and identifying barriers and solutions towards change. Generally speaking, insurance will not pay for coaching. Unlike therapists, coaches are not licensed at a state level, which means even if you don’t live in Indiana, I can offer you coaching services.

Some areas of coaching I specialize in are…

Wellness and holistic health
Narcissistic abuse recovery
Sexual wellness, sensual embodiment and Tantra

Chakra healing

More than ever, companies are investing in the mental health of their employees. Untreated depression and anxiety costs the global economy a trillion dollars per year. One employee suffering burnout can cost a company almost twice their annual salary. It’s worthwhile for companies to provide their employees with the tools and support to manage their stress and care for their mental health.

I can provide engaging, dynamic training on how companies can improve productivity and retention with tools that foster a positive, compassionate culture that meets the human needs of its employees.

I specialize in burnout prevention and focus on training at the administrative level. I help companies encourage psychological safety and increase cohesion among employees. The goal of my training is to empower managers to strengthen their corporate cultures and improve rates of retention, which results in more productivity, better mental health and increased engagement across employee strata.

SERVICESIssues You Might Be Facing

COUPLE
Relationship Issues
Couples counseling can help whether you're preparing for marriage, going through a rough patch or considering divorce. Counseling can help you learn healthy communication skills, process external stressors in your relationship, and improve physical and emotional intimacy. Across studies, 70-90% of people find couples counseling to be beneficial. It is a valuable investment in your relationship.
INDIVIDUAL
Depression & Anxiety
Anxiety and depression are two common and often co-occurring mental health struggles. They are also varied in their presentation, causes and treatments. If you're experiencing these issues, we will work together to find the right solutions whether it's cognitive therapies, medication management, physical wellness or lifestyle changes. Whatever you're struggling with, it can get better!
INDIVIDUAL
Stress & Burnout
Our culture doesn't always allow us the balance, rest and self-compassion we deserve when it comes to managing work and responsibilities. Studies show chronic stress can be just as toxic to our bodies as poor diet and lack of exercise. Learning coping skills to manage stress can help you live a happier, healthier life. Whatever hat you have to wear day to day, you're more effective when you take care of you.
SELF-DEVELOPMENT
Building Self-Worth
I believe self-worth is the foundation of mental health. To heal and grow, we must first believe we are worthy of it. To make change, we must first acknowledge our right to something better. Developing self-worth is both a path to healing and also a means of building resiliency to future adversity. We set healthier boundaries and expectations when we truly value ourselves. We strive for more when we know we deserve more.
FRAMEWORK
Integrating Wellness
An integrative wellness approach is more successful because it considers all aspects of an individuals life: physical, emotional, spiritual, social environmental and mental. The idea is to enhance a mind/body connection and utilize any discipline that optimizes healing and growth. In therapy, this means considering both conventional and evidence-based practices as well as alternative and holistic approaches where appropriate and desirable to the client.
INDIVIDUAL
Trauma & Grief
Trauma, whether it's acute or long-term, can fundamentally alter how our brain functions. It can diminish our sense of self-worth, our ability to experience relationships in healthy ways and even cause physical illness. Grief from divorce, death and other loss is a process of adjustment and acceptance. While the experience of grief is universal, it impacts us in ways that are deeply personal. Therapy can us help reclaim and rebuild our lives and ourselves.
